As we come to the close of our February vacation, I wanted to take a minute to update you on our district’s mitigation strategies for combating COVID-19. As you know, starting Monday, February 28, 2022, wearing masks in school buildings is no longer required. They are still required on the bus and in the nurse’s office. Our district strongly encourages those who have not been vaccinated or have underlying health issues to wear a mask still. The district will continue to fog buildings, frequently wipe down high-touch areas, keep 3 feet distancing and offer symptomatic testing to families.
This week the district will also launch take-home testing for students and staff. This program will allow every student and staff member to receive, every two weeks, rapid COVID-19 tests. The test will enable individuals to test themselves each week at home. The tests have been ordered and should be in soon. The district will be meeting with a local school district that has already started the test at home program to understand the rollout process. We hope by mid-week to have out to families and staff details and directions to sign up for the program.
I genuinely hope you will enjoy your last day of vacation.
