Stop Summer Slide

Stop Summer Slide
Summer is upon us and with that comes what some call the “summer slide”. Children lose skills learned because of lack of practice during the summer.
Here are some things you can do to slow this process down.
-Set Goals: Example: Read for twenty minutes a day, do flashcards twice a week, etc…
-Practice: Look at the sheet sent home with your child and practice some of these skills to keep them “fresh”.
Help you child see that practice over the summer will put them ahead when he returns in the fall.
Enjoy your summer!
