QUICK STEPS TO WRITING A POST:
- Start filling in the blanks: enter your post title in the upper field, and enter your post body content in the main post editing box below it.
- As needed, add media using the button above,, make any other adjustments.
While adding media is relatively simple, we will cover this specifically elsewhere.
- Select a category. DO NOT MISS THIS STEP!
The most common error users make when they first start using ARRSD is that they forget the category. A category must be selected so that your post will appear where you want it and where you are authorized to put it. For obvious reasons, the users are prevented from posting on pages that aren’t related to them. IF YOU DO NOT CHOOSE A CATEGORY AND POST, YOU WILL ‘LOSE’ YOUR POST – though it isn’t actually lost.In WordPress, there must be a default post page. When the program is used as a blog for a single writer, the default page is the web site’s homepage. But because our homepage is the official homepage for the district, our default page is called ‘news’. which is invisible to everyone except the administrators. Contact Ed Skutnik or one of our techs if you lose a post, because the truth is it isn’t really lost, it just needs a category selected (which Mr. Skutnik can do through administrator privileges).
- When you are ready, click Publish.
Click ‘view post’ to see the post itself. Go to the page you want the post to appear on to see it how the parents and students will see it.
