School health policies have been developed to protect the health and promote the safety of students while at school.  For safety reasons all medication must be kept in the nurse’s office and should never be transported to school by a child.  A medication form needs be filled out by your child’s physician in order for medication to be administered at school.  Please note: It is extremely important that our school office have an accurate and current emergency contact list. If your family’s home or work phone numbers change or your address changes, please notify the school right away so that we are able to reach them.

While we carefully balance health needs of children with state attendance requirements we ask that parents use good judgement when assessing whether their child is too ill to be at school. Often times children can work through some minor complaints of illness.  Please speak to the school nurse if you have questions or want to discuss the school exclusion guidelines based on your child’s health status and symptoms.  Be advised you may be required to submit a doctor’s note if your child has frequent or excessive absences.
