Here are the learning activities for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The expectation is that each student will spend a minimum of 15 minutes each day on each subject area listed below. If you have any questions please email your child’s teacher.

WEDNESDAY: June 10

ELA: Listen to Mrs. Goldthwaite read a story “The Perfect Color”. Interactive read Colors

This story is an informational text. This means you will learn true information and facts about a topic.  Some vocabulary words that will help you understand the story are:

perfect: when something is perfect, it is as good as it can possibly be and there is nothing wrong with it.

endless:  when something is endless, it goes on forever.

experiment:  to try something out to see how it works.

After that please complete the following activities:

WRITING:  Write about a time when you thought about something in a new way.  Remember to use upper case letters at the beginning of the sentence, use finger spaces between each word,  and end your sentence with punctuation.

Write out these sentences and you can practice reading them:

Does this look good?

Come and help us.

Does he play here?

Come and look for the dog.

Monday, June 8 – Tuesday, June 9 Week 11

Hello Everyone! As promised, here are the learning activities for Monday and Tuesday. The expectation is that each student will spend a minimum of 15 minutes each day on each subject area listed below. If you have any questions please email your child’s teacher. We will post more activities for the rest of the week on Wednesday.  

MONDAY: June 8

ELA:  Please listen to Mrs. Webb read the story “All Kinds of Families”. All Kinds of Families.mp4

Here are some vocabulary words to help you in the story.

sort:  to put things in groups with other things that are the same in some way.

similar: when things are similar, they are alike in some way.

Write about “All Kinds of Families”  by completing this sentence. “I learned that families…”

Please have your child make a Congratulations card for their 6th grade buddy and email a picture of your child with the card to me!

After that please complete the following activities: 

Motion:  signal a person to come with palm facing up.

Language:  “COME, COME here!”

Motion:  preen, as though looking at self in mirror.

Language:  “DOES, DOES my dress look nice?”

Practice reading the words “come” and “does”.  Practice writing the words.  Write two sentences using the two new words.  Don’t forget to use uppercase letters at the beginning of the sentence, finger spaces between the words, and punctuation marks at the end of your sentences.
