Families and community members are invited to the Athol Royalston Middle School for the Multicultural Festival June 8 from 6:30 – 8 pm. The halls will be filled with student projects celebrating heritage, appreciating diversity, and investigating global issues. The chorus will sing in several languages, and there will be food to taste from around the world. As a follow up to a day-long African movement and drumming workshop with the talented West African group Crocodile River , there will be African masks, drums, games and more which families can gently touch and explore. Also, Japanese woodblock prints loaned from Smith College will be displayed. Crowd favorites like fabulous face painting and a spontaneous global fashion show will be part of the celebration. The event is free!
