The ARRSD elementary school SEL (social-emotional learning) monthly character trait for April is: friendly. Mrs. Schwab, Elementary Guidance Counselor, presented SEL Classroom Guidance lessons to all Kindergarten – 4th grade classes on the friendly trait. Students in 2nd grade classes turned and talked in small groups about how to be friendly in class, at recess, at lunch and on the bus or van. Students in 1st grade classes watched the video read aloud of the book, My New Friend is So Fun, By Mo Willems, and talked about how to be friendly to each other in school. All of the grades turned and talked about ways to be friendly at school!
Mrs. Ludwig’s 1st grade students’ writing about the friendly trait is posted in the ACES lobby.
