At the close of grades for progress reports for the third quarter, freshman through juniors have completed grade reflections in advisory on Friday afternoon. Seniors were informed of the Athol High School Scholarship. This scholarship is granted to all graduating seniors who attend college and completes the application. This scholarship is renewable over four years. The AHS scholarship has a deadline of May 1st, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. Please be aware that scholarship information will be emailed to all seniors and their parent/guardians as they become available. OPENING Thursday, March 10th — The Athol High School Drama Club, under the direction of Laura Robinson and the musical direction of Ryan Caster, will perform South Pacific this weekend in the school’s Anzaldi Auditorium. A musical based on the James A. Michener’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, South Pacific, features original music from Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II and tells the story of Emile de Becque and Ensign Nellie Forbush, a french ex-patriot and an optimistic nurse who are brought together by a world at war. For the AHS Drama Club’s production Lorenzo Carra and Olivia Dufour will take the lead rolls of Emile and Nellie, Kariana Tobias-Tessier will play Bloody Mary, Patrick Curtin and Zach Bergquist will play Lt. Joseph Cable and Luther Billis respectively. Costumes are designed by Sharon Euvrard, choreography is arranged by Christine Rouleau, and sets are constructed by Laura and Jason Robinson. Showtimes are Thursday, March 10th and Friday, March 11th at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 12th at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are available in advance at the Athol High School Office and Trailhead in Orange. “Break a Leg” to the cast and crew of “South Pacific.”
Spring Sports will begin on March 21st. All eligible students who wish to sign-up may do so with Mr. Bevis in the cafeteria.
