A Letter from the Principal – February 2017

As this school year is rapidly coming to the halfway point, report cards for second term and first semester final exams were issued on Friday, February 3rd 2017.  If you did not receive your child’s report card, please stop by the main office.  After we return from February vacation, the 2017-2018 course selection sheets are being prepared.  Please be on the alert for them.  Please review and discuss with your child the importance of classes for college and career readiness beyond Athol High.  If you need additional support with course selection, please contact your child’s guidance counselor.  Seniors remember to complete those scholarship applications and turn them in on time.

On February 22, 2017, AHS hosted the Project Purple basketball game.  The Project Purple is an initiative sponsored by the Herron Project (THP).  The former NBA star, Chris Herron established, “THP Project Purple initiative was developed to break the stigma of addiction, bring awareness to the dangers of substance abuse and encourage positive decision making to navigate life’s challenges.”  Mr. Heron spoke to the students two years ago and we are continuing the work this year.
